SSL VPN

What is a VPN
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) provides an individual enterprise or entitywith a dedicated channel for its internal network resources over the publicdomain of the Internet. VPN first used PPTP / L2TP for its communications protocol, but the channel lacked an encryption mechanism and was therefore less secure. Later developments, such as IPsec VPN and L2TP Over IPsec VPN, provided channels of better security; yet, complicated settings made it inconvenient to use them.
The SSL VPN was adopted later for its easier access to network resources. Convenience. The user can sign in and easily establish a secure channel through the HTTPS protocol, to corporate network resources or units, provided that the client browser supports SSL. Using the HTTPS protocol, the user will not be too limited to a strict network environment to use VPN.

When to use VPN
